About me
Ajay Suresh is a Project Engineer at Argonne National Laboratory for the Battery Workforce Challenge collegiate competition. He also serves as a member of the BattChallenge’s Operational Steering Committee. Prior to joining Argonne, Suresh held a wide range of engineering roles within the renewable energy and sustainable technology fields.
Most recently, he worked as an intern for Tesla’s Reliability Engineering team, where he designed multiple long-term component reliability tests and data infrastructure solutions for its industrial and residential energy products. Before this, he worked as a Product Engineer at Tesla, serving as the fleet owner and driving a wide variety of improvements to the EV automaker’s large worldwide fleet of residential battery products, including the Powerwall 2 and Powerwall+. Suresh started his career as a Junior Hardware Engineer at a solar energy startup called Solarlytics, where he designed multiple hardware, firmware and software infrastructure products aimed at optimizing solar power output.
He holds a Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Psychology — all from the University of California Davis. Suresh is also a recent Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions alumnus, having worked as a Project Manager for UC Davis' EcoCAR EV Challenge team while completing his Master’s.
